Geocase’s Liana Jervalidze Spoke at the Seminar on Democratic Culture

Ms. Liana Jervalidze, a Research Fellow at Geocase, delivered a keynote address at the seminar titled "Choice in Favor of Democratic Culture," held from March 13 to March 16 in Borjomi, Georgia. The seminar was organized by the Tbilisi School of Political Studies in collaboration with the Council of Europe.


The seminar commenced with opening remarks from notable figures including Armaz Akhvlediani, Founder and Director of the Tbilisi School of Political Studies; Pawel Herczynski, Ambassador of the European Union; Meline Arakelian, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Robin Dunnigan, Ambassador of the United States of America; Riina Kaljurand, Ambassador of Estonia; and Alexander Vinnikov, Head of the NATO Liaison Office, who delivered welcome speeches.


Throughout the seminar, critical topics such as Georgia's EU perspective, democratization, and fundamental domestic and foreign challenges were explored. Discussions also touched on the prospects of democratic transformation in autocratic and hybrid political regimes. 


During her presentation, Ms. Liana Jervalidze concentrated on the prospects of the Middle Corridor and explored traditional and potential transport corridors in light of emerging geopolitical challenges.


The event drew a diverse audience, including diplomats, experts from various fields, representatives from different media outlets, academia, as well as members of Georgia’s public and private sectors.
