Victor Kipiani: “My expectation is that we see Mr. Irakli Gharibashvili not only as a Prime Minister supported by the ruling party, but also a publicly recognized authority and a strong leader of the country.”

Victor Kipiani, Chairman of the Georgian think-tank “Geocase”, assesses the tasks and expectations for the new Prime-Minister.

Victor Kipiani states, that “the Prime Minister of Georgia is equally required to have a capacity to solve in parallel both tactical and strategic issues. The necessity of it is dictated by the situation both internally and externally in the country. It should be noted that in the wake of solving present economic and social problems, the country should by no means drop the pace of much-needed political change, as well as steadily follow defined by the Constitution Euro-Atlantic integration course. Such versatility and complexity in the agenda require special knowledge and competence of the state management from the political leader - Prime Minister. And in the light of the diverse tendency of public opinion, the competences require listening to different views, accepting them and persuading his own team to make rational decisions based on correct analysis and convincing the public. In short, I would expect that we will see Mr. Irakli Gharibashvili not only as a Prime Minister supported by the ruling party, but also a publicly recognized authority and a strong leader of the country. I can’t relate to any true friends and patriots of this country, in this very difficult and responsible present, who would not wish for Mr. Gharibashvili’s success in his capacity of the Prime Minister.”
