Geocase hosted a meeting with the IMF Resident Representative in Georgia

On December 9, 2019, the think tank organization Geocase hosted yet another informal meeting - Corporate World Series.


The event’s special guest and keynote speaker was Selim Cakir, International Monetary Fund Resindent Representative in Georgia.


Victor Kipiani, the Chair of Geocase, welcomed the guests and moderated the meeting.


Among the event participants were Georgian experts, researchers and the representatives of the local financing organizations.


The main aim of the event was to discuss recommendations and reviews presented in the latest IMF World Economic Outlook report published in October 2019, and to work out a practical action plan for Georgian stakeholders to follow.


Other topics covered during the meeting were: IMF policy in Georgia, Foreign direct investments, impact of regulations on Georgian economy, Larization policy.


The Geocase "coffee chat" meetings serve to facilitate inviting and involving trusted speakers and experts (trade & international policy, innovation & business growth, industry regulation & competition policy, etc.) in discussions on various important topics.
