Victor Kipiani, Chairman of Geocase met with Dr. Jeffrey Mankoff, a Distinguished Research Fellow at the U.S. National Defense University's Institute for National Strategic Studies, whose areas of expertise include Russian foreign policy, Eurasia, ethnic conflict, and energy security.
During the meeting, the analysts overviewed the regional security issues in the context of the Russia-Ukraine war and the current developments in the Black Sea region. They discussed what the security environment might be considering ongoing war and its possible outcomes, and what are Georgia's expectations and priorities at this stage. Discussions also touched upon NATO enlargement as well as Georgia’s positioning with the United States in the context of the Russia-Ukraine war and the Black Sea security.
“It was a pleasure to have hosted Dr. Mankoff at the Geocase offices. We had a pretty productive interchange of views on the current pressing issues of the region and shared some specific initiatives and solutions in this regard.”- noted Victor Kipiani.
The meeting was very insightful forasmuch as the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS) is preparing the report concerning the topics discussed, and the White House Administration is also working on the Black Sea region policy concept. The INSS report will be shared with the US officials for the Black Sea Strategy development.
