Geocase is delighted to announce that Mr. John Christian Kornblum has joined the think tank as the Honorary Chairman of the Advisory Board. Mr. Kornblum's exceptional background in diplomacy and business, coupled with his profound expertise in U.S.-European political and economic relations, will undoubtedly provide invaluable insights as Geocase continues to navigate its path of growth and innovation.
Mr. Kornblum's eminent career spans across diplomatic service and executive leadership in both the United States and Europe. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to Germany from 1997 to 2001. His contributions to international relations also include roles such as U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs, Special Envoy for the Dayton Peace Process, U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (Helsinki Process), Deputy U.S. Ambassador to NATO, and U.S. Minister and Deputy Commandant of Forces in divided Berlin.
In addition to his diplomatic achievements, Mr. Kornblum's business acumen has been showcased as the Chairman of Lazard Freres Germany from 2001 to 2009. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Counsellor at the esteemed international law firm Noerr LLP, and he serves as a Senior Adviser to the global consultancy Accenture. His diverse expertise has been sought after by several supervisory and advisory boards, including those of Thyssen-Krupp Technologies AG, Bayer AG, Russell Reynolds, and Motorola Europe.
Outside of his professional commitments, Mr. Kornblum maintains a robust presence in various organizations on both sides of the Atlantic. He actively contributes to the boards of the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany, the American Academy in Berlin, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, and several nonprofit organizations. His outstanding contributions have garnered recognition, including esteemed accolades like the Knights Cross of the Order of Merit from Germany and an Order of Merit from Austria.
