Dr. Khatuna Burkadze and David Kapanadze held a meeting within the Bipartisan Academic Platform for National Unity in Akhalkalaki

The Georgian Think Tank - Geocase and the Georgian Strategic Analysis Center (GSAC) established the Bipartisan Academic Platform for National Unity. The purpose of this Platform is to promote reducing polarization in society and create a multilateral cooperation space, which will be based on the common values that should initially encourage civil society and academia, as well as the broader parts of the public. The project is sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Georgia.

Dr. Khatuna Burkadze and David Kapanadze met representatives of civil society in Akhalkalaki.

Dr. Khatuna Burkadze noted: "The year 2023 has become a turning point for Georgia on the path of European integration. Our country has achieved tangible results. Granting the EU candidate status is clear proof that Georgia, as a European state, is given the opportunity, through reforms, to finally achieve its European goals and become a full-fledged member state of the European Union. At the same time, this is a recognition that Georgian people are committed to European values and can contribute to ensuring the security of the Black Sea region, which is a significant component for a unified European security architecture."

"Accordingly, the geopolitical situation indicates that we, with the support of our partners, should continue to implement reforms to get closer to the European aspirations. Furthermore, Georgia is a part of European civilization and has been striving for full integration with the Western system for centuries. This is an unwavering choice of both our ancestors and the population of Georgia, which creates a solid, constitutional basis for the fact that the European integration process is irreversible, and we will be able to take more strategic steps to implement our historical, civilizational choice," added Khatuna Burkadze.
