Dr. Khatuna Burkadze met with representatives from the Air War College

Dr. Khatuna Burkadze, the Director of Foreign Policy Studies at the Georgian think tank Geocase, met with representatives from the Air War College. She discussed Georgia's security challenges and the importance of U.S.-Georgia bilateral relations.

Dr. Khatuna Burkadze emphasized, “Today, unfortunately, due to the current political crisis in Georgia, the U.S.–Georgia strategic cooperation, which has been strengthened over the years, has been suspended. This suspension significantly impedes efforts to ensure the country's security, implement foreign policy priorities, foster development, create opportunities for Georgian citizens, and build democratic institutions. We must work to resume our strategic relations and maximize mutual benefits for both nations.”

“In the evolving security landscape of the region, it is crucial to support initiatives aimed at reviving discussions regarding the potential reinstatement of the suspended Charter on Strategic Partnership between Georgia and the United States. The Charter upholds Georgia's territorial integrity and political independence while reinforcing democracy and stability. It outlines several areas of bilateral cooperation, including defense and security collaboration, economic, trade, and energy partnerships, the promotion of democracy, and the enhancement of people-to-people and cultural exchanges,” added Dr. Khatuna Burkadze.
