Florian Biermann

Biography

Florian Biermann is a senior lecturer at Nottingham Business School in the United Kingdom, where he teaches economics. From 2011 to August 2017, he was an assistant professor at the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET) in Tbilisi, Georgia. In parallel, he headed the “Social Policy Research Center” at the affiliated think tank ISET Policy Institute, a role in which he carried out applied economics projects for clients like the World Bank, UNDP, USAID, UNICEF, and others.

Florian has authored project reports, policy papers, and blog articles related to economic development and geopolitics in the South Caucasus and the specific economic challenges facing the country of Georgia.

Florian has been an external fellow of Geocase since February of 2020.
