Biography

Since 2020, Ambassador Ioseb Nanobashvili has served as the head of the regional representation of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) in Tbilisi. Prior to this role, he dedicated 23 years to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, where he held various positions, with a notable tenure as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Republics of Greece and Serbia from 2015 to 2020.

Throughout his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ambassador Nanobashvili held key positions, including Deputy Director of the European Integration Department, Head of the European Council Division, Director of the International Economic Relations Department, among others. His impactful contributions during his time in the Georgian mission to the OSCE in Vienna (2009-2013) and the diplomatic representation of Georgia to the European Union in Brussels (2002-2006) are particularly noteworthy.

Ambassador Nanobashvili holds academic degrees in Political Sciences, including a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Diplomacy. He has been honoured with the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

Furthermore, Ioseb Nanobashvili is a prolific author, having written numerous textbooks and monographs about the European Union, as well as a practical guide on conducting multilateral diplomacy. His contributions extend to academia, where he serves as a scientist-researcher at the University of Manitoba in Canada and the University of Piraeus in Greece.  He holds the title of Honorary Professor at Webster University and is an Associate Professor at Caucasus University.
